x Inner Child x
Your inner-child; smiling, laughing, glowing, snug. Once unharmed.
She is the Spring sun rising, setting in her own peace immersed time, with ice-cream dreams awaiting her return.
Fearless ferris wheels.
Dizzying rollercoaster heights.
Daring dodgems.
Whirlpool waltzers.
Chips and sweets on the peerless pier.
Dancing excitedly like a yo-yo.
Fun and alive like the crashing waves of the sacrosanct sea.
Her name in the sand never washes away.
She keeps her magic in a locket. She is the colours of a carousel. She fizzes like pop, in a helter-skelter haze.
She is the stripes on a stick of rock.
She is spun like candy floss.
Vulnerable, yet powerful like the eternal keys of a piano, that penetrate through flesh and bones.
Lost like the animals in the arcade machines, I hear her anxious tears falling between the bruised blossom petals in her lonely sleep, as I lift a fragile seashell to my ear.
I feel the sheer force of her ferocious hurt flashing between my eyes like a hurricane punch from a boxer, that is consumed by the devil’s storm, of neon grief.
Sky like treacle. Rain falls between the coruscating city lights like a fisherman staunchly casting his net.
Thunder cracks like a belt buckle.
Lightning blooms like a prisoner’s thoughts.
Wing of butterfly, feather of crow; strand of rainbow, balloon of innocence.
I won’t let her drown, like an addiction. I will pull her to the esemplastic shore.
I won’t let her shatter like stones through derelict windows.
I won’t let her fade like an old photograph.
My V-Signs are holy in this fight.
I will protect her at all costs xxx
